MMABSE’S Scholarship Chairperson, Danita Tyler, Speaks About Fundraising for Milwaukee Public Schools Seniors

Approximately one week ago, more than 17 Milwaukee Public Schools collaborated by going bowling at JB’s On 41 to raise money for high school senior students in the Milwaukee Public School system to attend college.

On Friday, March 3rd, each bowler from MMABSE, also known as The Metropolitan Milwaukee Alliance of Black School Educators, raised $200. Each team of 5 to 6 bowlers bowled for about two to three hours, wearing school uniforms, eating pizza, and having a great time; winners were confirmed and announced at the end of the night with trophies.

Congratulations to Milwaukee Marshall, under Principal Steven Howell, who remained in first place all night and took the winning trophy home.

Members from Milwaukee Marshall wore matching shirts.

Participants from Casimir Pulaski High School scored high, coming in second place. Kudos to Ms. Kiper for organizing a Pulaski team and Ms. Scott, Ms. Ruchalski, Mr. Berg, Mr. Coleman, and Mr. Hopgood for participating and showing their dedication and support.

Other participants included but were not limited to the following:

MacDowell Montessori School, Maple Tree, Siefert, Emerson, Congress, Bethune, Manitoba, Andrew Douglas, Casimir Pulaski High School, Marshal High School, Bradley Tech, Washington, Vincent, North Division, James Madison, Human Resources/Central Office, Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports also known as PBIS, Milwaukee Recreation and many more.

Some attendees in the building were not affiliated with any school but rented a lane for a birthday party celebration.

The atmosphere at JB’S 41 is composed of friendship, fundraising, and fun activities. The lines for beverages were long, but the results were satisfying. Colleagues raised money, reunions edified, and MMABSE participants enlightened the students.
