Deacon Lonnie Anderson, phenomenal choir Director for the Male Chorus and faithful member of Christ The King Baptist Church, husband of Phyllis Anderson, and Father of his two kids, held his Mom’s funeral services on Holy Thursday, August 31st, 2023, at Christ The King Baptist Church.

According to the Obituary, Milinda served at Bethany Lutheran Church until the ministry closed. She continued to serve as a faithful member of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Milinda Coleman entered eternal rest on Holy Thursday, August 17th, 2023.
Like her son, Lonnie, Milinda was familiar with hard work. Bereaved Resolutions from Pastor John Wesley McVicker, Sr.; Milwaukee Public Schools, Superintendent Keith Posley submitted an answer on behalf of Milwaukee Public Schools, and the church clerk acknowledged more. The late Milinda Coleman received her formal education from Milwaukee Public Schools, modeled for commercials, and worked for the Yellow Cabs service. The Obituary stated, “In 1985, she was an independent cab service operator with Louis Coleman for both Milwaukee Brew City and Yellow Cab.” In her leisure time, she fellowshipped with her grandchildren, garden, praise dance, went for walks at the lake, wrote music, and prayed daily with her prayer partner.

After hearing the testimonies, Pastor John Wesley McVicker, Sr., alluded to the bereaved congregation that Milinda Coleman enriched the family with the Word of God and His teachings. He said he did not know her, but the Message would come vicariously through the life of her son, Deacon Lonnie Anderson, and his wife, Phyllis Anderson, faithful and committed members of CTK.
“For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
2nd Timothy 4: 6-8, New King James Version
Pastor John Wesley McVicker, Sr, entitled the Eulogy, Moving focusing on Around, Back and Ahead.
As Paul told Timothy, you won’t always have me. God brought me through. He plans to endure the suffering and accept the life before me. Paul shared comfort and wisdom with his son in Ministry, Timothy.
Paul was coming to terms with his mortality while he was in prison. Soon, at the end of his termination of life, he was a prisoner of powers beyond his condition of control. His Benediction to Life made full proof of his ministry. He worked the church to the edges.
Paul became an ambassador of Jesus. He did not want to die full of God’s graces nor keep it for himself. He knows by pouring out, he lived vicariously through others. There were no regrets at the end of his life. While you have the ability and mobility, in your right mind, to pour out to others.
Christian life equals pouring out to others.
Look Around
The time for my departure is at hand. Departure is loosening the ropes so they can set sail. I was reducing the ropes, breaking up a camp, and taking down the tents. He looked around, and it was time for me to set sail.
Look Back
I fought the good fight. I don’t have any regrets. I could have been better. I lived this life to the fullest. Paul is a prisoner soon to die at the hands of Nero. God has laid out a successor for each of us. People are impulsive. Live out your days, and don’t mimic me.
Verse 6-8, my life will end soon. I served Jesus Christ. I’ve done what He has called me to do. Paul is about finding and running your course and fighting your system. This race is not a relay.
Look Ahead
Finish your sprint. Don’t stop running. Don’t sit on the sidelines. Don’t wait on others. Think about your God-given assignment. His death was not horrible. Prove to his permanent home.
Paul will rest from his labor, from prison to the palace. Not ceasing to exist, but changing residence. Hope is in the harbor. Live in a destined land. Your loved one lives on in your head and heart.
