Ginuwine's Queen News Release

Saturday’s Simmering Moment Reflection on July’s Founders Month Celebration at Christ The King Baptist Church

All members, friends in the ministry, and family and friends stand in awe of the dedication and love that Christ The King Baptist Church Founders Pastor John Wesley McVicker, Sr., and First Lady Marilynn have shown over the past thirty-nine years. Their economic and spiritual contributions have been the cornerstone of Christ The King Baptist Church and Kings Academy.

CTK wants to extend its heartfelt thanks to the Preachers and Pastors who made this joyous month memorable. The celebrations began with the Pre-Founder Day Celebration with Rev. Dr. Demetrius K. Williams from Community Baptist Church of Greater Milwaukee on July 14th.

Guest Speaker of the Hour on Founder’s Day, July 21st, Dr. Fred L. Crouther from New Covenant Baptist Church of Milwaukee.

On July 28th, special thanks to Guest Preacher Rev. Dr. Donaldson Jones from Greater Commission Baptist Church in Pulaski, TN, who traveled from city to city to bring a Word from Heaven for this commemorable Founder’s Month.

At the Kitchen Table, Pastor John Wesley McVicker, Sr, First Lady Marilynn, and their lifelong friend Irene Hamdlin, also known as Inky, a key figure in the church, talked. Pastor expressed his ideas of creating a fabulous church and leaving the Milwaukee Fire Department as a firefighter.

Inky said, “What are you going to do?”

Pastor McVicker mentioned having a Bible-based church where he teaches the Word of God, and Inky said, ‘We’re going to have the best choir,’ a statement that would shape the church’s musical tradition for years to come.

Thirty-nine years later, the parishioners of Christ the King Baptist Church come together every consecutive year to celebrate their hardworking, helpful, heroic, humble, and humorous Founders.
