President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris Responds to the Fires in California

The Federal Government, under the leadership of President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, is committed to covering 100% of the cost for 180 days. This financial support will assist with essential groceries such as groceries and prescriptions for medications, among other things. Those in need of assistance are encouraged to call 1-800-621-3362 or visit https://www.disasterassistance.gov.

The money will help contain the fires. Per President Biden, “The Hollywood Hills are contained, but three other fires remain active” in different locations.

“We’re expecting a breaking in the wind. We’re going to send every resource.”

President Biden reiterates the government’s commitment: “You will get every resource you need. We are here to help you recover and rebuild.”

The Federal funding for firefighters and disaster development will increase from 75% to 100%. This significant boost in support is a testament to the government’s unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of the affected communities, providing a sense of security in these challenging times.

There is also a water shortage. More generators will get the pump to work again. President Biden added:

400 extra federal firefighters
30 helicopters and planes
8 Department of Defence, CI 30, equipped to suppress wildfires.
500 wildfire ground personnel.

FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, will help provide shelter, baby formula, and groceries to those affected by the fires. For help, call 1-800-621-3362.

President Biden, “We are with you. We are not going anywhere.”
“Firefighters and 1st Responders, you’re heroes. They likely have to run into the flames, leaving their families in harm’s way.”

Vice President Kamala Harris underscores the situation’s urgency, stating, “This is urgent. It’s unpredictable; we’re waiting to see where the wind blows.” This emphasis on urgency calls for immediate action and preparedness.

“Firefighters are working around the clock and even longer. One thousand families have been displaced with nowhere to go. Sadly, many insurances have been canceled. Some families will not have the resources to recover.”

“Strangers are helping strangers. Families are opening their homes to neighbors and friends of neighbors, feeding them and sheltering them. Heroes are among us.”

“Firefighters are putting themselves in harm’s way to help perfect strangers.” Their selfless acts of bravery deserve our utmost respect and gratitude.
