First Nations chose people they thought should go shopping with the Milwaukee Bucks. On Thursday, December 14th, 2023, ten students from Milwaukee Public Schools, two from Pulaski, one from Reagan, one from Audubon, one from Bradley Tech, and two from South Division or North Division, and three more shopped with the Bucks under First Nations according to Casimir Pulaski’s High School honoree, Aniyah.

“Everyone met at Ho-Chunk Office, Headquarters of Native American kids.”

“Bucks provided a Coach Bus, took us downtown where the new Kohls are, and walked us to another building where a store was. The Bucks had a room decorated along with catering food. The food was good, but the chef did not know who had allergies. They had fried meat like Puerto Ricans make, brisket, and more.”

“After shopping, they gave us a chocolate bomb, so when we made hot chocolate.”

“My sister, Emily, goes to Reagan. We have a big family of nine. At first, they weren’t going to let us go. One of the people said let them go.”

My little sister and I got picked out of those ten kids.

They had someone make food for us, like cornbread, chicken, mac and cheese, some veggies, cheese curds, and some other foods

They gave us kids 400 dollars to spend.

I got my little sister a perfume kit,  my older sister a blanket,

my dad has an Adidas Binnie,  my older brother some cologne,

and my boyfriend some cologne as well.  Then after shopping, they took us for a bit of surprise and took us to Footlocker for some new shoes.

I got myself some Jordans 4’s that are green and my boyfriend’s Air Forces that are black and white.

Then they took us back to where we were eating and wrapped presents with us.

    Aniyah

First Nations were the honorees for 2023.

Regarding 2024 honorees, “We have not made the selection.”

    added Gillman.

“This is one of our favorite events we get to do with Gruber Law Office, and we’re excited to continue the holiday tradition.”

    said Gillman.
