  • Some people seek advice and healing from a therapist, psychiatrist, or family members. Some may go to a gym, shop, or the movies to escape reality or deal with their problems.  Some attend Sunday School for growth and encouragement. Whatever one needs for strength and healing, Sunday School is often recommended as a form of group therapy.

Pastor Treyvon Sinclair, Sr., will be discussing Forgiveness on Wednesday mornings and evenings, focusing on the life of Joseph.

  • UPDATE: Brief Acknowledgements of the late Khaleelah Taheerah Ali,

    September 1st, 1953- July 18th, 2025.

On Saturday, August 9th, 2025, Christ The King Baptist Church members, friends, family & clergy did not hold back any tears when they shed light on the late Khaleelah Ali.

The late Deacon Marvin Bell’s Wife, Sister Pamela K. Bell, responded:

    “She minded her own business.”

Marvin was her teacher. She asked Marvin if she could be his assistant by getting the packet ready for new members. On another occasion, the Women in Ministry needed a Secretary.  She said, “Yes.” Deacon Bell said, “She’s a sharp shooter. She will put you in your place.”  His wife asked, “Why are you whispering? We’re at home.”

He added, “She sees and knows everything.” She was an excellent Secretary. She was always serving, respectful of others. Voiced her opinion and was done.

At Kings Academy, she made pillows for the kids.

Names were embroidered on the pillow.

“She loved to drive. She would drive to Alabama by herself.”

“I thank God for bringing Khaleelah into my life. Goodnight, my sister, you will be missed.”

    Ali’s Son Question & Testimony!

“I’m a Momma’s Boy, Proud of it.  My Mom lived a life of service. She played tennis on the courts with me,  and I wanted to win. I went to High School at Nicolet High School, and she sat at the tennis matches. She sacrificed sleep to make sure I got the things I needed for the day.”

    QUESTION:

Her son posed a question to the congregation!

Please stand if she ever made a dress, cake, pie, or clothes for you. Over 25 members stood up!  There must have been at least 50 people who stood up, silent in stature but standing, testifying concurring with other members on how Ali had helped them.

He would tell his Mom the night before that he had a track meet on Saturdays, so she always made several trips to Woodman’s.

She made a three-layer velvet cake and delivered it. He would say, “Are they paying you?

She responded, “I don’t do it for the money. I do it because someone asked me.”

She never did things for money. Hey Mom by Kanye West is my favorite song! I’m proud of the line, “the lessons you taught us, and the legacy you leave behind.”

    Ali’s Other Son Testified!

“She’s a straight shooter to the point.  Her resilience helped me become who I am today. Keep my head high, speak my mind, and I get myself in trouble sometimes. I got my drive. I miss her. I’m glad she was my Mom. She cared. From sewing to baking, chocolate chip cookies and more. She loved every one of you. She helped shape me into the person I am today.”

Special thanks to those testimonies not mentioned here: Reverend Judy Amos, who spoke about Ali’s Christian Service, and Employer, Carolyn Parker, who spoke about Ali’s work ethic as an Employee.

“We, too, feel the pain of her absence.”

“Like Paul, she had the gift of a needle.”

“She did more sewing clothes for me than I did eating these cakes.”

“She was a member for a quarter of a Century.

Beautiful Soul, she’s gonna be missed.”

    Mark 14

Pre-Gethsemane, a melancholy spirit. Jesus talks about death and dying.

The disciples had grown accustomed to his presence.

    Sermon Entitled, NO MORE

That which was is no longer. Such an honor as we had been surrounded to witness the no more is Khaleelah Ali.

Birthday, holiday dinners, family vacations, holiday reunions, cakes, cookies, and projects. She demonstrated her gift. No more speaks of closure.

No more is painful, troublesome, dreadful, unguided, closure for those left behind in a loving relationship.

    The next word is UNTIL

Until death comes. Death is the intermission. Death ends the life of a know-it-all. Death gets you up for a sequel.

1st Corinthians 15: For if the thing only we have hope in Christ

Until suggests life was a book.

There is an epilogue that needs to be written.

Song- a reprise is in order

No more, finally, is the knowing and present reality.

Until Contradicts no more. This is not final, only temporary. No more, and that day. That day, A promise of Jesus, another day is coming.

Another day is looming. Hopeless, another day is coming.

Sorrowful, another day is coming. A brighter day is coming. A day of rejoicing is coming.

Pastor McVicker, Sr., Reminds the Family

Hold on to your faith. Keep on trusting JESUS until that day. Keep serving until that day.

That day, 12 months of fruit, 4 horsemen until that day come live for Jesus, work for Jesus. When we all get to Heaven. We will sing and shout the Victory.

Quiet and yet Dedicated, the late Khaleelah Ali

The memorial service for Khaleelah Ali will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, as family and friends gather in loving memory and support at Christ The King Baptist Church.

  • Faithful To The Finish

On Good Friday, July 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., members of Christ The King Baptist Church and supportive clergy from across the city and state joyfully gathered at Discovery World to honor two extraordinary milestones: the church’s 40th Founders’ Celebration and the well-deserved retirement of Pastor John Wesley McVicker, Sr. The evening radiated with uplifting music, shared meals, and powerful speeches, all centering on a jubilant celebration of Pastor McVicker’s enduring, positive impact on Milwaukee, CTK, and the wider community.

In spirited anticipation of this milestone, CTK members united in a generous outpouring of support and heartfelt appreciation before Pastor McVicker’s cheerful retirement and the joyful installation of Executive Pastor Treyvon Sinclair, Sr. Members who were able gave $1,000 each to help clear the church’s mortgage, demonstrating the event’s spirit of communal generosity and legacy. This spirit permeated all aspects of the celebration.

    Souvenir Booklet Ads

To honor this occasion, parishioners, clergy, and businesses contributed souvenir ads celebrating Pastor McVicker, Sr., and First Lady Marilynn. Ad messages reflected gratitude and appreciation, reinforcing the event’s central themes of leadership and legacy. The souvenir book thus became a significant tribute to both the church and its leadership.

Once a buyer sent an email with all required information and payment to Chairperson Vivian King or a committee member, a binding contract was created. Upon acceptance of the ad offer and receipt of payment, the ad was included in the souvenir book. Each member was responsible for purchasing their own ad, regardless of employment status, and no complimentary ads were provided. Furthermore, if any changes to the ad or contract were made by the committee without the buyer’s written consent, the agreement would be considered void.

The Anniversary Committee did not notify buyers about issues or missing materials with their ads, as all necessary items had already been included in the original submission emails. Thus, the confirmed contract and payment ensured the souvenir book accurately reflected the McVicker Family’s positive legacy.

Here is an example to view:

    Commentary Note:

Anniversary Committees should note that if an ad contract is not properly negotiated and confirmed by both the buyer and the seller, any party—including the local church and its Anniversary Committee Members—may be held liable for breach of contract, fraud, or negligence. Once both parties have signed the contract and payment has been made, the agreement becomes legally binding. Additionally, any uncorrected errors in the ad could void the agreement due to breach of contract.

A diverse array of ads filled the souvenir book, unified by admiration for Pastor John Wesley McVicker, Sr., and First Lady Marilynn. In turn, their Retirement Celebration gathered the community, highlighting the far-reaching influence Pastor McVicker had throughout his service, a true reflection of the event’s significance.

A wide array of esteemed clergy and churches from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and across the nation contributed ads to the souvenir book, each honoring Pastor and First Lady McVicker’s legacy and reflecting the deep bonds within the faith community.

    Welcoming

As guests joyfully enjoyed their meals, an atmosphere of celebration filled the room with uplifting melodies and heartfelt congratulations for Pastor McVicker’s retirement, further strengthening the focus on honoring his cherished ministry and the church’s remarkable milestone. This celebratory mood carried through the remainder of the evening.

Sensational speeches followed, culminating in a final toast to Pastor John Wesley McVicker, Sr., which seamlessly transitioned into personal reflections and tributes from his peers

“Pastor taught you how to keep a woman,” said Pastor Eldridge Sims.

Although at the crowning moment, Pastor allowed his brothers in the ministry to give him his flowers. This gesture underscored the significance of the collective contributions to his journey.

Two leading clergy who were unable to attend the finale still placed an ad in the book, ensuring their participation was felt.

Excused for illness: Dr. Archie Ivy (New Hope Missionary Baptist Church), His son, Rev. Reginald Ivy, came for support.

Excused for work: Pastor, Dr. Joe Albert Bush, Sr..

After the speeches and supper, guests joyfully commemorated the night with photos, capturing memories filled with laughter and affection. The celebration then concluded upstairs with spirited dancing led by the DJ, bringing the evening to a joyous and unforgettable close.

  • When people are happy to see each other, introverts may greet you with a friendly smile, while extraverts might shake hands, give high-fives, hug multiple times, or even offer a friendly kiss on the cheek to express their love, friendship, and appreciation. These types of affirmations are considered expressions of Agape Love (unconditional love) and Philia Love (friendship).

Another type of love that Plies World depicts in his video with Jamie Foxx and The-Dream is Eros, which represents the love between a husband and wife or a boyfriend and girlfriend. This love is more than friendship; it encompasses romantic feelings.

Please Excuse My Hands (Video) (Feat. Jamie Foxx & The-Dream)

If someone is giving you a ride home and they are not the “love of your life,” and their hands start to touch your leg, you can assertively say, “This leg does not need a massage!” If their hands touch your shoulder, tell them, “Don’t touch me,” inquire about their wife, and they should stop immediately. This way, you can arrive at your destination safely.

However, if the unwanted touches persist and lead to a dangerous situation, it’s essential to remember a lesson from the show Medium. In one episode, Allison warned a young teenager seven years before her abduction, rape, and murder:

“He looked a little older, but he seemed harmless at first when you were bending over to tie your shoe. When he offers you a ride, refuse it, and if he won’t listen, FIGHT LIKE HELL.”

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s crucial to know how to defend yourself. In case of an emergency, if you can’t access your mace, learn self-defense techniques. Consider enrolling in a karate or judo class to equip yourself with the skills needed to protect yourself from imminent danger.

  • A Friendly Reminder from Pastor John Wesley McVicker, Sr.:

“Jesus can change your mind! A Testimony from the Tombs. Your circumstances may not change, but Jesus can transform your viewpoints and outlook. When you focus on Jesus, you can see hope in Christ.”

    Altar Prayer

Announcements and Recognitions from Pastor John Wesley McVicker, Sr.

“Out of 365, this is your one day! All day! Milk it because it’s going to be over when the clock strikes 12:01,” said Pastor John Wesley McVicker, Sr.

“I’m glad to see my friend, the top cop of our county, Sheriff, Denita Ball is here this morning, thank you for being here with us this morning. Thank you for worshipping with us today.”

“Dr. Jacqueline Howell transitioned from Labor to Rest. Suppose you’re at least my age or a few years younger and have children. She was our pediatrician.

Two doctors took care of us, Dr. Windon Pen Lacy, who was the obstetrician, after he caught them and handed them off to Dr. Jacqueline Howell. 94 years young. Thank God for her,” added Pastor McVicker.

“No longer was anyone able to dictate his steps.
Even with a chain, no one was able to bind him anymore.
Ordinances, laws created to prevent him from being the man he was supposed to be,” added Pastor McVicker.

“He stood up against the status quo and reclaimed
The systems targeted him, but the
No one was able to subdue him.
Repeatedly chains and shackles, tools, Repeatedly those tools were implemented but he overcame them,” Verse 4, added Pastor McVicker.

“Every mechanism to restrict and restrain him failed.
Fought against legalized controls, the tombs became his assigned place.
“No law, policy, or practice could kill this man’s dreams and desires for freedom.”

“The caveat was although he moved beyond those impediments, the mental anguish provoked outbursts and expressions of deep-seated pain and distress.”

“Constantly Night and day, he was screaming in the tombs and mountains and gashing himself with stones”

“Not just this man, if assigned to the tombs long enough can and will engage in self-destructive behavior because of being emotionally and psychologically emasculated by those who could exert power over his life.”

“His coping mechanism to be assigned a lot in life resulted in normalized antisocial and self-destructive behavior.”

“Life in the tomb is a daily reminder that no one cares about your welfare, humanity.”

This man was being dominated and controlled by voices that refused to grant him freedom of choice and mind.
Trying to convince him that life in the tombs became his fate.

JESUS wanted the man to tune out those voices so he could live his life unfettered from his past. This man had been resistant to every system.”

  • “Now Isaiah had said, ‘Let them take a cake of figs and apply it to the boil, that he may recover’ (Isaiah 38:21). Like the Prophet Isaiah, Dr. Howell continued to offer wise advice until the end of her life. Please keep the CTK family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
