Juneteenth was a Federal Holiday where African Americans enjoyed freedom from slavery. In every city, especially Milwaukee. Streets are being blocked off with signs allowing for parades, police protection, and various local booths with giveaway bags from Milwaukee Public Schools, Milwaukee Public Library, Banks/Bader Philanthropies, Inc., Milwaukee Rescue Mission, Solomon Community Temple, UMC, and more. No one was excluded from petting chickens, riding a pony, enjoying a train wagon ride, or being on a carnival ride chicken coup. There was fun, food, and fellowship for everyone wanting freedom on Juneteenth Day.
