Ginuwine's Queen News Release

  • When I voted for my Presidential candidate today during Early Voting, I touched the screen with the back of the eraser. I printed my Ballot, read the bottom of it, and took it to the next station.

A lady told the other gentleman, “Read over your ballot.”

Another lady told me the same, “Read over your ballot.”

    Both of us said, “Okay.”

    There was a PROBLEM

He said, Everything is okay and inserted his Ballot into the envelope!

I said, “I don’t see …………… Name.” Another name was on the printed ticket under Presidential Candidate, but it was not the same name I selected when I touched the screen with the pencil eraser.

The worker said, “Your ballot is SPOILED,” and opened a new ticket for me.

The worker said, “This happened at least 16 times today.”

America, Read your BALLOT BEFORE YOU SEAL THE ENVELOPE! Make sure you see your Presidential Candidate’s Name on the Ballot!

If you are interested in voting EARLY, you have until Sunday, November 3rd. Please review the attached link for more details.

A worker said we were in line for an hour, but it only seemed like 15 minutes when with friends.

I want to give special thanks to Rev. Dr. Jennifer Carner for preaching the first word during the Women’s Month Celebration at Christ the King Baptist Church.  She added that October is Survivor Month of Domestic Violence and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Every Survivor has a story. Numbers 27: 1-11

    Dr. Carner emphasized three points:

    1. Leverage your Connections, Numbers 27: 1-3. A Deuteronomy 28 Season.
    2. Lean into your Courage, Numbers 27:4, and 2nd Timothy 1:7. You must take a Risk.
    3. Yes, God always Comes Through Numbers 27:5.

In verses 1-8, the women had to be in positions before leadership passed on. Do something! Be active in the community. Be there for her. Keep on Walking. Run. Don’t Give Up.

    Warning

The impact of gun violence is profound, as one sees in the personal stories of those affected. The violence and death of a loved one not only impacts the survivor but also the families, friends, and loved ones. Whether at home, school or in the streets, gun violence affects everyone. Please click the URL to view the video from pbs.org and understand the emotional weight of this issue.  https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/watch-gun-control-advocates-share-their-stories-at-2024-democratic-national-convention

From heart-wrenching testimonies above on the sudden deaths in schools or the streets due to the lack of gun control, Pink, her young daughter, and other soloists sing the song, underscoring the pressing and urgent need for change in our society. Their emotional performance will indeed resonate in everyone’s heart.

    What About Us

The song ‘What About Us’, a powerful anthem of unity, was performed by Pink, her daughter, and other soloists, who asked the common question, ‘What About Us,’ as they urgently inquired about gun control. The urgency of their plea will inspire you to take action. Please watch the video on YouTube.

    Senator Mark Kelly

Arizona, Sen Mark Kelly, a strong advocate for gun control, delivers his remarks at the Democratic National Convention, where he passionately speaks about the urgent need for gun control measures, supporting troops and veterans, and the sacrifices the service members make.
    “We will win.”
‘One Team on one Mission. State by State, Voter by Voter Coming Together.’ This rallying cry emphasizes the need for unity in the fight for gun control, inspiring collective action.
“On Nov 5th, let’s prove this by electing Kamala Harris.”

The Democratic National Convention will accept the Presidential Nomination for Vice President, Presidential Candidate Nominee Kamala Harris.

Michigan’s Governor Gretchen Esther Whitmer Addressed the Supporters

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer addressed the DNC and said, ‘We get stuff done!”
She explained the comparison between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
Kamala Harris knows how to take items out of a cart while shopping. Donald Trump doesn’t know about not getting to work when the car stops or breaks down. He calls his chauffeur.
“In a crisis, we need someone before the crisis. Why wouldn’t we choose a leader who is trusted? I know who I want. America, let’s choose Kamala Harris.”

Men and women wore white apparel to honor the Voting Rights for Women, the 19th Amendment in Congress in 1978 and later ratified by Congress. Several delegates also wore cheese heads.

Per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Vice President Kamala Harris was already officially nominated virtually. However, the ceremonial roll call will still give each state and territory a few seconds in the spotlight.

Wisconsin isn’t the only delegation standing out for its hats. Delegates from Kentucky are wearing light-up cowboy hats, and some members of the Colorado delegation have similar but less flashy headwear.

Tyra Banks does not wear a decorative hat, but Vice President Kamala Harris shows her support for small businesses. The well-known America’s Top Model and affluent actress founded and owns Smize and Dream, an ice cream parlor in Washington, D.C.

    The Location
“So why D.C.? For one, it’s the home of Banks’s brother Devin, a 28-year Air Force veteran who works on Capitol Hill. “We’ve been in different parts of the world for decades,” Tyra Banks said in an interview Thursday at a news conference hosted at the pop-up. “So it’s nice to be here with him.”

    The Love
“The company, she says, is in many ways dedicated to her mother, Carolyn, with whom she recalls grabbing scoops of coffee-flavored Häagen-Dazs every week as a child. Her mom, Banks says, was working two jobs to afford a move from a one-bedroom Los Angeles apartment.”

Former GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger Addresses DNC
“I learned something about the Democratic Party.” “They love this Country just as much as we do. They are as eager to defend American values home and abroad.”

“Donald Trump is a weak man pretending to be strong.” “He’s a perpetrator who can’t stop playing the victim.”

True strength is standing up for the Constitution and Democracy.
“Ladies and Gentleman, we must put Country First because I do belong here. She is dedicated to upholding all three.” To my Fellow Republicans,
Democracy knows no party. It’s the bedrock that separates us from tyranny. When that is fractured, we must stand together and unite.

Vote for our bedrock values; vote for Kamala Harris.

Maya Harris, the younger sister of Kamala Harris, spoke at the Democratic Convention.

Attorney, Public Policy Advocate, and writer Maya Harris spoke about her Mother’s strength, significantly influencing her and her sister. Her Mother’s strength, determination, and wisdom encouraged the family to achieve any goals they had in mind.

“As a civil rights activist and scientist, she had great expectations for us. She knew we could be the authors of our own stories.

We have different struggles. Kamala knows what it’s like to be the underdog and beat the odds. She has created so much optimism and joy. We live in a time when some try to separate us.”

“Kamala focuses on Connection. Others want to drag us back to the past. Kamala says, “Hold up now; we are not going back.”

We have so much in common than what separates us.

I wish “Mommy” could be here tonight to elect a leader who sees the potential in each of us.”

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper is “the last guy standing between you and what we’ve been waiting for.”

“I want the American people to know that Kamala Harris will fight for you tonight.”
For parents, children, workers, or any of our allies wondering if America still has your back, Kamala will fight for you.

Kamala is ready. Are we going to fight for Kamala?
Roll call taken; stand up! Are we going to fight, stand up, vote, and win?” “You bet we are. Let’s get them.”

Vice President, Presidential Candidate Elect Speaks, Mrs. Kamala Harris

“We trust women. When Congress passes that Bill, I will proudly turn it into law.”

  • Not content with Great Britain’s rule, the thirteen colonies united in 1774, ousted British officials in 1775, and appointed George Washington as Commander in Chief of the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War. The French support was instrumental in the 13 colonies’ triumph over the British armies, leading to the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783 and the colonies’ official sovereignty.

Under the leadership of the Founding Fathers, the thirteen colonies declared their freedom from the monarchy of King George, William Frederick III. The Independence Day Document, also known as the United States of America, was a testament to the courage and vision of the people in June. It was submitted/introduced by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia, declaring the USA independent from Great Britain’s authority. The process of declaring independence was a meticulous one. The Declaration of Independence, written by Thomas Jefferson in seventeen days with feedback from four other members (Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Roger Sherman, and Robert Livingston), was revised and approved by Congress on July 4.

  • The Problem

    Homelessness is not a choice.

What can you do to help the homeless population?

There was a response on receiving the Powerball Lottery
There was little or no response on what someone will do with winning earnings.
    Facts about Voting and Homelessness

    The Plan

After knowing the facts and statistics, an article states that homelessness numbers are decreasing.

The article stated that 114 unsheltered homeless people in Milwaukee, WI, in 2020, and 87 and 17 people were found in 2021. The report also says that the numbers may not be accurate because of the homeless hiding in the winter months. If the homeless are not visible, they are not included in the statistics. So how many persons were experiencing homelessness in 2021?

Seventeen were counted during the count. According to Milwaukee, “Milwaukee County recently received a $7 million American Relief Plan Act contribution from the state to focus on developing more than 100 homes in the neighborhood surrounding Milwaukee County’s Marcia P Coggs Human Services Center 1200 w. Vliet St.”

    The Process

On March 11, The United States’ 46th President, Joe Biden, signed the H.R.1319-American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Do you remember when students were confined at home and then went back to school? Do you recall receiving two stimulus checks over $1,000 or having foreclosures and evictions postponed due to lack of income and work because of Covid? This bill also helped the Homeless. President Biden needed the H.R.1319 -American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 to pass to help everyone recover economically, educationally, politically, socially, spiritually, and more when it was introduced on February 24, 2021.

Rep. Yarmuth John A was the Sponsor of H.R.1319 – American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Yarmuth, a Democratic Party member,,, and Kentucky representative, initiated the discussion.

Why is Representative Yarmuth important? Yarmuth, born in Louisville, Jefferson County, on November 4, 1947, helped change history by introducing the bill.

The bill was introduced to Congress by Representative John Yarmuth, voted and passed without any discretion.

President Biden signs the bill into law.

    https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/legislation/2021/01/20/president-biden-announces-american-rescue-plan/

President Biden knew that Covid did not interrupt one house, city, or country. Thousands were affected by Covid’s reality and nightmare. The spread of Covid went from city to city and country to country. How did this bill affect the homeless population?

Deliver $5 billion in emergency assistance to help secure housing for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This funding will allow states and localities to help approximately 200,000 individuals and families obtain stable housing, while providing a down payment on the president’s comprehensive approach to ending homelessness and making housing a right for all Americans. Specifically, these funds will provide flexibility for both congregate and non-congregate housing options, help jurisdictions purchase and convert hotels and motels into permanent housing, and give homeless services providers the resources they need to hire and retain staff, maintain outreach programs, and provide essential services.”

H.R.1319 -American Rescue Plan by President Joe Biden

Where do homeless people go to sleep? No one has to sleep on the streets in Milwaukee or Racine. Free shelters and reduced-priced motels are available for every person in need.

    The Procedure

The Cathedral Center offers a flexible housing program at Friendship House of Milwaukee. The attached photo is taken from BizTimes.

According to Biz Times, the homeless population has dramatically reduced compared to last year.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1UySYoALPxy9NRS9W Thej9X_rVWiTLbmI/edit#eoi

Number Decreased! 2016, the homeless population was 1,521. In 2021, the homeless population was 817.

How are schools affected by homelessness?

    The Partnership

    The Push

Greyhound will intervene if a teenager runs away from home and becomes homeless. Let’s say Maria, who is in high school, met a guy on social media. An older man lied about his age and told Maria to meet him in Chicago. He sent her money to Milwaukee for a bus ticket, and she met him at Chicago Greyhound Bus Station. When she arrives, Maria finds him and leaves with the older man.

After two days of being abused by the older man, Maria escapes the isolated house while he is at work. She walks to Greyhound and tells the attendant what happened to her.

There is help for Homeless Runaways.

“Greyhound will pay for the child to return to their prospective city.”

“Greyhound helps homeless youth and adults.”

    Kevin Diaz, Agent for Greyhound

“Children go to the station and go back home for free. We get fiver per week for assistance to get back home. It’s a way back for them to get back with their families. “

    Agent Diaz

“From 15 to 17 years old, a minor, an employee goes with the child back home and there is no extra salary for that.”

“From 50 to 60 year old, to be honest it’s not that frequent. It’s one every two weeks. Normally, it’s the young people who are stranded and helpless. In Dallas, Texas, we have more cases in Atlanta, GA. It depends on the state and I don’t know much about Wisconsin.”

    Agent Diaz

Agent Diaz says that homelessness happens everywhere, and no one is exempt.

If you don’t know what to do, follow the steps above to assist the youth. In the ho e, there may be yelling, swearing, fighting, and confusion all day and night. What does the child do in this situation because the child is not homeless? Can he or she be helped under the homeless program?

According to Director Lyons, the two-week-only stay Emergency Shelter allows students to attend school, attend after-school programs, and/or jobs. Students have a daily schedule and meet with a therapist five times a week for one hour. They also do chores and homework, and the staff assists them with their assignments.

“It is not intense therapy. We do not force people to talk about things, but they know they can.”

    Director Lyons

During their free time, visitors are allowed. Director Lyons has seen improvement among the residents. After three weeks of their stay with them, she will contact them to see if they are still home.

According to Director Sus, there are three shelters. The first is Men without Children. The second is Family, and the third is Women without Children.

“It is an Emergency Shelter. We get them in and the case manager assigns them. Their review is every 30 days. As long as someone is making an effort, I prolong their stay. If they are missing meetings, we give them a warning. “

    Assistant Director Sus

“I can’t do much for sex-offenders. Upon intake, we find out their a sex-offender, we have resources for them. There is a background check, but not to bar {clients.} Hey, if you have an open warrant, you need to get this handled.”

Director Sus added that the organization does service Racine residents first. They have come from out o town, but it is not desirable. They should find resources where they are at.”

Director Sus mentioned that they need a lot of education. Besides money, hygiene materials are always much-needed towels, bedding, and soap.

“It’s going to be a cold winter. We’re short on hats, gloves, coats, boots, and socks.”

If the public is interested, we set up tours for groups of people. People can learn what a shelter looks like and how it runs. The tours are on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We gave tours to groups, students, Johnson Bank, and police officers. “

  • There is no secret that Historical Black College Students are growing in college debt.  To halt the increase in debt, President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris provided the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (Heerf) to provide financial relief for all students.

The Biden/Harris administration team focuses on keeping students in college and making their college bills affordable.

Clark Atlanta University was the first Historical Black College to take advantage of this milestone. Students’ balances cleared, so they could focus most of their time on graduating rather than graduating from college with an enormous debt.  What does any of this have to do with Milwaukee and its’ residents?

On Aug 27, 2022, the 38th United Negro College Fund, UNCF, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, partnered with Milwaukee residents who chose to walk, run, or cycle at Veterans Park, 1010 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53202  to raise money and financially support Historical Black Colleges.  The goal is to focus on future successful students willing to work and contribute to society.

Six Christ The King Baptist Church- Trustees, were present to assist Ms. Julietta Henry with what she needed to make the event successful.

Although the dates were different, the goals were the same.

This consecutive tradition has been recurring before COVID every year in Milwaukee.  The walk/run was not about sponsors but also those who went above and beyond to thank the participants.  Trophies were presented to winners of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.  The live DJ entertained all the volunteers and participants with great music, Alpha Phi Alpha barbecued turkey, beef, and vegetable burgers along with chicken, jerked chicken, brats, hot dogs, ribs, and more.

Subway also provided box lunches for everyone.  One was not disappointed when one came for the run/walk/cycle, to volunteer, to assist with participants, or to help Ms. Juiletta Henry with the extra work.  Everyone shared the theme.

Participants did not know if they became sick or ill during the walk/run; six Angels were there to help them. Kudos to Christ The King Baptist Church Trustees.

Dropping out of college because of a lack of finances will not be an issue.  Scripture says

    2 Thessalonians 3

“If a man will not work, he shall not eat.”

The goal is for all students to enroll in their education, be successful in life, and give back to life without succumbing to college debt, dropping out of school with no hope, and thus being homeless with no plans.

If residents are unsure where to vote, according to Debbie, there are  180 voting places in Milwaukee, WI.  There are two stipulations.

If residents are registered to vote, they should bring proof of identification-a driver’s license or State ID card.  If residents are not registered to vote, go to the voting place and fill out a registration form. Also, bring proof of residency, a utility bill, a residential lease, or a bank statement.

Early Voters who saw the commercials on Twitter and  Facebook heard the speeches and changed their minds about their candidates.  They may vote again. There is a process where poll workers will fill out a form and the necessary paperwork to delete the first ballot and add the second.

Whether a voter has a question about homelessness like Los Angeles, or any other issue that affects them, they may choose a candidate that aligns with their integrity and interests.  For example, some protect the homeless in Los Angeles and do not want their “residency” banned 500 yards from daycare centers and schools.  However, others say politicians are criminalizing homelessness in Los Angeles.

According to the Associated Press, “Supporters of the blanket ban said homeless camps are a health and safety threat to schoolchildren, primarily because of the disruptive presence of people with drug addictions or mental illness.”

Homelessness may or may not be your issue in Milwaukee, but each candidate represents what they believe. Donald Schwartz is proud to say he helps people who do not earn much money.

‘I’m proud to be with the Social Development Commission (SDC), A Community Action Agency in Milwaukee.

Each day, my work is to bring energy and enthusiasm to the SDC and contribute toward putting poverty in Milwaukee County into the dust bin of history.”
